an awesome day out with the kids.

So I had planned to surprise the kids today with a visit to the seaway serpentarium, which was cool enough all by itself. Before we got a chance to get out the door or even out of our pajamas one of the neighbours/friends from around the corner rang our doorbell and gave us 4 free tickets to howell's pumpkin farm and 4 coupons for free hot drinks too.. (only good today!) So I finished cooking up my caramel corn that was the main thing on the morning agenda (OMG IT IS SOOOO GOOD) and got the kids into the car so we could go out and get matt a new outfit or two as he needs new clothes. If you don't know why hopefully you will in a few weeks! (things could be looking up.. Waaaaay up..) Then I abducted one of Drew and Joe's best friends Zack and we headed off to the pumpkin farm! Man I love that place. If you've never been and you have kids you REALLY have to go. There are animated chicken shows, skeleton shows, dancing singing frogs, rubber duck races, pig races, a corn maze, haystacks to jump in, fresh pumpkin donuts!, a haunted barn, petting farm, hayrides, and bunnies to pet (or as tisha calls them.. BABBITS). Plus a really cool assortment of pumpkins... Zack got a peanut pumpkin.. cool! After being there for a while I told the kids it was time to go because I had another surprise for them and that we were going to watch crocodiles be fed! They were all really excited about that and anyone who knows Tisha knows that her favorite animals are crocodiles.. she even makes her toy crocodiles eat her dolls. It's really cute in a morbid kind of way. If you're curious why check out youtube and look up never smile at a crocodile by the muppets.. it's her favorite. So we headed over to the serpentarium and it was totally not what I expected. For one it's pretty much a redone house. with crocodiles in it. I was expecting something a whole lot bigger than that. But I do have to say it was incredibly hands on and just amazing. We got to watch snakes constrict rats to death and eat them, another snake kill a rat by biting it with venom and then eating it... and watch the camans, crocs, and alligator get fed! I think it would have only been better if it wasn't an hour past Tisha's bedtime because by croc feeding time she was totally miss cranky pants. She got over being miserable once the crocs started eating though. Drew was absolutely in love with the one snake and had it around his neck for almost the whole time we were there. Anyhoo.. here's some pics..
