It's Isadora Greta's birthday!!

Well it's been another interesting week.. of course I've spent more time at the JK.. this week we made our jack o lantern. All I have to say is WOW.. one of the kids dad's came in and helped the kids make a blue's clue's Jack o lantern... with a cool pic of Blue and a bat on the front.. and then all the paw print "clues" in the back.. then he put in a flashing light.. and wow.. Clue's all over the wall behind a really cool looking pumpkin!! One of the kids will get to take it home tomorrow... Man I hope it's Joey... maybe I should volunteer monday... I was checking my emails this morning.. and It's Isadora Greta's Birthday!!! Dora is the CPK the my sister got me for my birthday.. she's an adorable hispanic girlie with beautiful long cornsilk hair.. I just loves her.. Maybe I'll make her a new dress today.. I have to make one for Celina's doll anyways.. she's been hinting that her CPK might like a new halloween dress...

Well.. it's been another week in paradise...

I fully appreciate how much I love the chaos that is my life... Matt and the kids went up to the cottage for the weekend last weekend... and the silence around here was deafening.. I really am way too used to the constant roar of life happenning around me.. I think the entire weekend I just felt like crying I was so lonely for them.. On the other hand.. it's amazing how clean the house stays when it's just me here.. and how much sewing I can get done. I finally made my first quilt.. it was tiny.. but looks quite nice in my doll bed. I won some quilt squares off of ebay and thought they would make a much bigger quilt.. but for some reason 40 4" squares make a tiny little doll quilt.. oh well.. now I know.. What I want to do eventually is make new quilts for my bed and the kids beds.. it's probably better if I practice on doll quilts for a bit yet though... because quite frankly.. I suck.. It's been a good week... Matt's been in training in the evenings.. so he...

the turkey says COCK A DOODLE DOO!!!!!

Well.. I've had another interesting morning at JK.... today was our thanksgiving party.. which translated means.. I got to stuff paperbags full of popcorn and staple turkey heads on em.. and then I got to share the food.. which rocked!! So almost at the end of the meal it was time to take photo's of the kids for their memory books.. and the thought occurs to me.. maybe we shoulda done pictures BEFORE the grape juice... and we're doing the pictures with their little turkeys that they (read "me") made.. and Isabella starts crowing like a rooster.. COCKADOODLEDOO.. while making her turkey move like he's making the noise.. so I try to explain that turkeys say GOBBLEGOBBLEGOBBLE... but seriously.. none of them would beleive me.. and the next thing you know.. the whole room is a chorus of COCKADOODLEDOO's and LOUD.. and I've totally lost control.. Teacher saves the day... shut off the light.. silence.. why the heck didn't I think of that??? ...

Matt says I need to update my blog....

Well.. sorry it's been so long.. I've been sick.. and busy :) It's been a fun bit of time.. have had a week off of work now because of a sinus infection.. and when I say off of work.. I mean.. I couldn't even babysit.. I was THAT sick....ick.. I HATE getting sick.. Things at the school have quieted down.. most of the trouble makers have been moved to the afternoon class.. something to do with them being in daycare anyways.. and because of that being more flexible.. though I find it kinda funny that for the most part.. only the REALLY bad kids got put in the afternoon.. with Heba thrown in to make up for it... (she's a complete little sweetheart)... I'm not sure why Muslims would put their kid into a catholic school.. but hey.. it's their decision.. We spent the last couple days putting together turkey bums with the JK class... see.. they're going to be making turkeys out of paper bags.. filled with popcorn.. and we were making the turkeys ...

I need sleep.. oh god.. do I need sleep...

Well.. another exciting morning in the life of Sheri.. for starters.. I stayed up WAY too late last night.. Matt's buddies came over.. and I was sewing Cabbage Patch Kid clothes until about 10..(I stayed home from work cause I had a sore throat and tummy ache and headache and had intended to go to bed around 9) and then me and matt stayed up talking until about 2... which is really stupid when I've gotta be up at 7:30...... blah We wouldn't have been up so late.. in fact I WAS in bed at 10 ish.. but then Matt came up and told me that he had loaded the bread machine backwards.. and now our bread for tomorrow has a big hole in the middle of it... which is not exactly helpful for making sandwiches.. So I was determined that I would not have to get up at 7 and bike to the store to buy bread to make sandwiches... so I got up and made biscuits.. so the kids would have something resembling bread in their lunches.. Matt thought I was nuts baking at that hour.. so I told him to ...

blah I say.. blah

Well... the date was mostly good...We went for dinner at Harveys...and then we ended up playing mini gold.. which I think I beat Matt by about a million points.. and then we went to Chapters.. The mini golf was fun.. I think I've realized why Matt's putting takes so many strokes to get the ball into the hole... the more times he misses... the harder he hits the ball.. the farther away it gets.. I don't know what the REAL rules are.. but he had me playing where if my ball fell off the fairway I had to start over and take the shots taken as penalty.. but he had a MAX of 10 strokes per hole... (which he actually had to use three times... teehee) Anyways.. I seriously hope it helps his gold game that we had all that practice putting.. :) When we got to Chapters there was a Jazz band playing 1940's classic Jazz tunes.. They were really good.. but what shocked the heck out of me.. was when I looked at them and realized that I don't think a single one of them had...

Another wonderful day in junior kindergarten.....

Today was Grape Day... for anyone who doesn't live in St.Catharines.. this might totally perplex you.. actually.. I'm from Hamilton.. so it totally perplexes me too.. Everyone around here has this big deal about the Grape and Wine festival... (They've really changed the name to the WINE FESTIVAL it's better for tourism) Where mr.Grape wanders around and plays with the kids.. and the adults get smashed... and watch really crappy (and sometimes good so I hear but has yet to be proven) bands.. (maybe they like it cause they're drunk??) The whole city is in an uproar because they're kicked grape out of the title.. and in doing so have alienated anyone under the legal drinking age.. and those people allergic to alcohol.... (like me) So in junior kindergarten each year.. the teacher has a little grape party.. where the kids get to try all these different grape things.. white grapes, purple grapes, seedless grapes, seedy grapes, purple grape juice, white grape...

underpants gnomes.....

"Time to go to work, work all night search for underpants hey! We won't stop until we have underpants Yum tum yummy tum day!"

Two seater sporty model....

Well, it's been an interesting week, to say the least. Joey is now in school every day.. YAY and the co op student in his class is someone whose parents are good friends with another of my good friends... so hopefully I will have one spoiled little monkey this year.. lol. I've started another babysitting job.. which is cool.. a few afternoons a week just during the afternoon when Joey is home alone with no one to play with.. Drew's friend Jordan's little brother Riley.. so that works out ok. I took them swimming on wednesday last week.. and I guess this kid has never used water wings... only life jackets.. so we're on the way to the pool and he keeps asking "but how will we cloat?" the kid has a bit of a speach problem.. and I keep telling him that the water wings will make him float.. and he keeps asking "but how will we cloat?" and we get there and throw the water wings on him.. and he has no clue.. really doesn't beleive th...

chocolate milk.....

This morning was nice... I took Joey to the park.. We walked over to the market... and then to the library... It's good to be busy.. though I don't know why the market decides to charge more for veggies that look to be seconds.. than the grocery store charges.. seriously people.. if I can get a basket of peaches from Zehrs for 2.99$ what makes you think I'll pay you 4.50$??? Idiots... same thing with tomatoes.. at the market.. she'd give them to me CHEAP for 10$ a bushel.. IF I buy 3 bushels.. (never mind that I don't have enough jars to can 3 bushels.. or time in a week) But I saw bushels at Zehrs as low as 7.99$.... and I only had to buy ONE!!!! I bet you can guess where I got my tomatoes from... On with the story... all we ended up getting at the market was a cookie and a spinach pastry... (funny story in this too..) We went up to the bakery guy.. and he's got these plastic dome lids over his wares... (good wares too.. a tad over priced.. but goo...

swingset warming party

I must say... what a cool idea for a party!!! We just got back from swimming.. and before that a swingset warming party at Matt's cousins.. The fun part was the 2 hours we spent looking for Drew's ID before going over the border... didn't find it.. and ended up going over and they didn't even ask for it.. figures.. We got there and they had quite possibly the largest swingset I've ever seen... and one of those bouncy tents that they usually have at carnivals.. and a horse and donkey for the kids to ride... all this in addition to their pool!!!! So we had a great time.. Joey's best quote of the day was "I rode a pony, and a horse, and I'm going to ride the donkey, and one day I'm going to ride a PIG!!" He ended up riding the donkey twice!! no pigs though... Honestly you can't take me anywhere... It took me less than 5 minutes to spill pizza sauce on my shirt... (I really shouldn't have been eating pizza in the first place.. ...

I just want to point out something really cool

In case you didn't beleive my job is hell.. click here and watch some cartoons by a friend of mine :)

my bum hurts.....

Just a little advice to all you people who, like me, have no idea just how badly out of shape you really are.... Don't ride a bike to work.. especially when someone warns you that the seat is loose... A friend gave me a bike this week.. so I can get to work and avoid some of the high gas prices... (more on that later) So I, idiot that I am, hop right on and off I go.. (matt did warn me that the seat needed tightening).. and about half way there I realize that it's just not going to work for me to actually sit down.. and I can't remember how to bike standing up.. much less with my purse in my hand.. by the time I got to work I was pouring sweat (well not pouring really.. but I WAS fairly damp and breathing hard) and barely able to stand... Ran straight for the fountain (well hobbled really) and took a huge drink of the best tasting water I've had in ages... I must say the cafeteria at work is not exactly helpful when you want to eat something decent for dinner... a bunch...

mmm cream of wheat....

Well.. it's saturday.. almost 2 pm.. I've given up the search for yummy food... I've settled for cream of wheat... at least it's not stale... Took Joey out swimming last night.. Drew had said he didn't want to go.. and Joey discovered how much fun it is to run and jump into the pool.. It was kind of funny though, cause he'd climb out of the pool.. wander over to the edge like he's going to jump.. and then remember that he likes to run and jump.. and he'd turn around and run over to the wall and then run back to the side of the pool STOP and then jump in.. lol.. it was hilarious.. He lasted an amazing 20 minutes in the pool last night... then he was all about the hot tub.. I told him it was ok for him to sit on the edge and just put his feet in.. So I swam around the pool a bit longer, but when the other people who were in the hot tub got out I went over there to keep an eye on him.. I went in for as long as I could stand.. started getting diz...

Ebay!!!

Ok... I've finally done it.. I've finally listed some of my doll stuff on ebay.. not a lot.. just a few outfits.. nothing I made.. just bits and pieces of original coleco outfits.. I wanna try to get myself an Xavier Roberts original soft sculpture doll.. and the only way that's going to happen is if I sell some of my cabbie stuff.. soooo... it begins.. I've got 10 listings up right now.. 9 vintage and 1 new outfit off of a new doll.. that I didn't like the color on her.. not my favorite outfit.. and I've bought her others.. check here if you want to see my listings... if you feel like making a donation to my softie fund.. buy something :)

Acorns for the squirrels...

We ended up going to find the trail we couldn't find at night... turns out we were in totally the wrong neighbourhood.. so that would explain it.. the trail wasn't on the island... more like across from the island.... and not so much a trail.. as a level spot between peoples yards and the lake... but still .. an incredible view... and we found some wild grapes and acorns... I collected the grapes and made juice out of them for the kids.. not bad really.. but a bit of an aftertaste.. kinda like when you eat wild grapes.. only not as strong.. and we got a bag full of acorns to bring to the park for the squirrels... Last night we had friends over for dinner and watched some Penn and Teller DVD's ... we ended up at the creationism episode of "bullshit"... and that's pretty much where it god weird... myself.. I have very little faith in science... my hubby and friend both seem to beleive in science... I figure science has been proved wrong enough times.. and the bi...
